Hey all - hope the revision going well. Some last minute tips.
1. TV drama is a skill - so revise the stereotypes for each group & practice.
There are lots of videos on youtube if you type in 'OCR Media TV Drama Representation'
2. Revise terminology for both - its an easy 10 marks & you need it to translate the 2nd question (music industry)
3. Key thing is know the Framework for analysis - apply this to 1. their
characteristics, 2. their role in the story (why/how they are used, 3.
positive/negative, 4. power & status - looking for opposites. No matter what Social Group this is this approach will get you more marks (L4) for AEE (out of 20)
4. Prepare by looking over you mocks - these are your best resource for knowing what to do tomorrow & how to make notes
5. Use the blog - all lesson plans, clips, resources EVERYTHING is in there so spend some time looking
6. Use your notes - if you have put them on your blog - GREAT! If not, hopefully your mentor has
7. Revise with your Mentor - you crazy kids love your Facebook & your Justin Beiber so use this to partner up.
I think it COULD be Ethnicity or Age, but you better be prepared for any of them.
We will look at the exam format tomorrow, 8:30 in the Media room - the Yr 13s will be there to help coach you & we'll all eat Donuts.
30 mins screening x 4
45 min TV drama
45 min Music Industry
(no break - 2hrs straight)
All the very best - remember this is one hell of an exam so make sure you are prepared - you will not be able to just 'do it on the night'.
